Most Popular and Practical Combinations of Acupoints
1. Introduction to Jin’s Three Needles (J3N)
This Jin’s Three Needle (J3N) method, also called three-points needles has been summarized by professor Jin Rui (靳瑞1932-2010) from 1979 (Guangzhou TCM University). There are 39 formulae (combinations) of acupoints, which are practical and carefully selected. It’s a representative acupuncture school that originated in Guangdong province, south China, and then expanded to the whole of China, used in hundreds of acupuncture departments in hospitals. In China, acupuncture schools differ in various regions. For example, it’s commonly said that some master’s school belongs to Lingnan (岭南派South), Hai (海派, Shanghai), Jing (京派Beijing), Xiebei (西北North West), Chuan (川派South West), etc. Each school has its style and special techniques, making acupuncture a colorful and flourishing field.
The precious essence of Jin’s Three Needles is the theory of selecting points. The three-needle formulae can be used as the fundamental structure of most diseases.
