Additional weapons in the fight against the COVID-19

The virus that causes COVID-19 was formally named Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)-CoV-2 because of the genome homology with the SARS-CoV-1 (approx. 80%) that originated a similar syndromic disease during the epidemic in 2002–2003. Fuzimoto from Brazil and Isidorob from Italy recently published their latest findings on herbs and compounds which potently-significantly inhibited-blocked SARS-CoVs-host protein pathways(Fuzimoto and Isidoro 2020). They screened out 450+ herbs-natural compounds from 43 articles which showed strong-moderate antiviral properties. Generally speaking, those anti-virus herbs-natural compounds showed potent and significant inhibition of CoV-host protein pathways responsible for different phases of viral replication specifically targeting 3CLPRO, PLPRO, RdRp, helicase protein, S protein, N protein, 3a protein, Cathepsin L, Nsp1, Nsp3c, and ORF7a, and the S protein-ACE-2 interaction.
