Genetic Meaning of Spleen Yang Deficiency?

GCKR polymorphisms might be a potential genetic biomarker of SYDP, as well as NAFLD.

A research team from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine reported their latest study on the role of the susceptibility genes polymorphisms for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in Spleen-Yang deficiency pattern (SYDP) in a Chinese Han population. They team tested 12 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) genotyped in 341 healthy subjects for control group and 341 subjects for NAFLD group. They concluded that rs1260326, rs780094 and rs780093 in GCKR were significantly associated with SYDP of NAFLD, as well as the degree of SYDP (Gu et al. 2019).
