For many doctors, acupuncturists, and other practitioners, writing a case report can be the first effort to get articles published in a medical journal. It is considered a useful exercise and practice in learning how to write scientifically due to the similarity of the basic methodology. In a university-level of TCM education, reading and writing case reports are included as essential parts of the curriculum.
